If you've lost access to your Virtual Private Server (VPS), this guide will help you diagnose the issue and get it running again. We recommend following these steps in order.
First, make sure your server is running. You can check its status and manage its power state from the Power tab in your server's control panel.
If you can't connect with Remote Desktop (RDP) or SSH, it might be a network issue. You can bypass this by using the built-in Console, which gives you direct access to your server. The Console is available on your virtual server's control panel page.
If you can log in but still have specific issues, you can use the tools on your server's Recovery tab (accessible from Virtual Servers > your_server_name > Recovery):
If the steps above don't resolve the issue, your server's operating system (OS) is likely corrupted. Please review the following options carefully, as they have significant consequences.
This will completely erase the server's disk and install a fresh copy of the operating system. This is the fastest way to get your server back online if the OS is damaged.
Warning: This action will permanently delete all data on your server. This process cannot be undone.
You can start this process by clicking the Re-image the server link on the Recovery tab.
